Eloy passed away suddenly, Saturday, January 30, 2021.
Born in Baja California, Mexico, Eloy was the son of Ma. Herlinda Alcantar and Reyes Carrasco. Eloy was proud to live and call Durango, Chicago and Hammond home.
Over the years, Eloy did it all: farm work, auto mechanic, upholstery and anything that would involve helping others. He was a family man, who always provided and made sure he took care of his loved ones. He always put the needs of others first, he was the epitome of a humanitarian. Eloy loved nature, his pets and his cars, especially his ’89 Chevy Camaro and ’79 Ford pickup.
He is preceded in death by his mother Maria Herlinda Alcantar Villanueva.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Rosario Carrasco; children, Gael Eloy Carrasco, Omar Carrasco, Juan Antonio Carrasco, Rosa Chavez, Uriel Chavez, Ivan Carrasco, Ana Carrasco, Irma Carrasco Amaya; siblings, Reyna Isela Carrasco, Misael Carrasco Alcantar, Araceli Carrasco, Cesar Augustin Carrasco Alcantar, Herlinda Elizabeth Carrasco Alcantar, Aida Carrasco Alcantar, Petra Alicia Nieto Carrasco, Ubaldo Carrasco Alcantar; several grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
A visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Acevez Funeral Home, 4918 Magoun Ave, East Chicago, IN.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 DIRECTLY at St. Casmir Church, 4340 Johnson Ave, Hammond, IN.
The burial will follow at St. John/St. Joseph Cemetery, 1547 167th St, Hammond, Indiana.
Face Masks and social distancing are required.
