Felix Reyes Jr.

Felix Reyes Jr. age 72 of East Chicago passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Journey Senior Living in Merrillville with his loving family at his side.

Felix is survived by his children Jean Pierre Correa, Felix “John” (Renee) Reyes, Lisa (Thomas) Reynolds. Ex-wife Maria (Toni) Villegas. Three brothers include Arnold (Gloria) Reyes, Michael Reyes, John (Cathy) Reyes and 1 sister.

8 grandchildren: Ricardo “Ricky” Bustos, Felix (Stephanie) Reyes, Joshua (Christina) Correa, Ana (David) Uzelac, Alex Reyes, Thomas Reynolds Jr., Santiago and Salvina Reyes.

5 great grandchildren Amya Bustos, Joseph and Kiley Uzelac, Avaly and Elijah Correa. Many nieces and nephews with a very special nephew John M. Villegas.

Preceded in death by his wife Patricia (nee Valdez) Reyes and parents Feliciano "Felix" Reyes and Juanita (nee Vasquez) Reyes, Grandson Jon Correa.

Felix was an electrician and a member of the IBEW Local 697 since 1970. After he retired, Felix worked for the City of East Chicago Building Department. He was a graduate of Washington High School class of 1964. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Lifelong resident of East Chicago “The Harbor”. Felix was an avid historian and collector of East Chicago Washington Basketball Memorabilia. His collection was never completed, but he was proud of it never the less. Felix loved being a part of the Harbor community and being with his Union members.

Felix will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private Cremation was held.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, September 6, 2019 at St. Mary’s Church, 525 N. Broad St., Griffith, with Rev. Keith Virus officiating

Burial will be at a later date.
