Passed away peacefully Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the home of her daughter, Marcia, in Dyer, Indiana.

Preceded in death by husband Walter in (2006) and parents John and Antoinette (nee Maston sometimes written “Maslon”) Dziengiel, sisters Sophie (Ben) Reczek, Florence (James) Van Gilder, and brother John Dziengiel.

She is survived by daughters Sharon (Guy) Eveland, Jacqueline (John) Bysong, Marcia (Robert) Seman, and son Ronald (Ruth) Tabaczynski.

Grandchildren are Shannon (Jason) Ellis, Shawn Eveland, Eric (Jennifer) Goss, Lisa Goss, Michael Seman, Kara (Luke) Szot, Matthew Tabaczynski, Andrew Tabaczynski and Daniel Tabaczynski.

Great Grandchildren are Reagan Ellis, London, Lillan and Rivers Eveland, and Madison Goss.

Genevieve and Walter were married on April 24, 1948 at St. Adalbert’s Church in Whiting, IN.

Genevieve retired from Queen Anne Candy Company in Hammond and was a member of St. Casimir Church.  She was a bingo player and part of a bunco club for over 50 years and logged thousands of miles travelling as part of an excursion club.

Genevieve was “Auntie Jean” to a large extended family that included many relatives, friends and neighbors from North Hammond, where she and “Uncle Wally” were always happy to make their house (and swimming pool) everyone’s home.

 A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Acevez Funeral Home, formerly Anthony & Dziadowicz Funeral Home 4404 Cameron Ave. Hammond, IN, and at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 18^th with an 11:00 am Mass following at St. Casimir Catholic Church.

Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.
