Gerald (Gerry) Earl "PAPA"

Gerald (Jerry) Earl “Papa” Hammond, Indiana Jerry Earl, age 61 of Hammond passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Yolanda (nee Berrones) Earl, Four children; Jacy (Chris) Lopez, Justin (Sarah) Earl, Erica and Jerry Earl. Three grandchildren Christopher, Brandon and Noah. Mother Genevieve (Hilbrich) Earl. Siblings include Jan (Jim) Paul, Jimmy Earl, Judy (Money) Garcia, John (Lora) Earl, many nieces and nephews, and his two dogs Ozzie and Gino. Preceded in death by father James D. Earl. Jerry was a retiree of Inland Steel Co. where he spent the majority of his 40+ years as a Chemical Technician. He had a sense of humor that was larger than life, a contagious smile and would do anything to make others laugh. He had a tremendous love for music and a voice that was second to none. He also loved fishing, foosball, family dog walks, Da Bulls and Da Bears. He also enjoyed helping with Hessville Baseball and being part of the Chain Gang for Morton Football. Although he has left this life, the music he left in our hearts will play on forever. A celebration of his life will take place Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 2-7pm at Memory Lane Memorial Park and Funeral Chapel, 6305 Lincoln Hwy (Rt.30) Crown Point, IN. 219-322-2050. A prayer service will be at 2:30pm. There will also be special musical tribute to Jerry during the celebration of life. In lieu of flowers contributions to the family will be greatly appreciated.
