"Josh"

was born on March 3, 1983 in Harris, New York to Jodi Barry. Josh transitioned into Heaven on June 13, 2022. He was 39 years old.

Josh grew up in upstate New York with his family before they traded in real pizza, bagels and the best coast for cornfields and cows in humid, why don’t you put seasoning on your food, Indiana.

Here, he started his own family and eventually helped create four of the most perfect human children this planet has and will ever see. Josh received his Bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and graduated Cum Laude in his class.

He was working on his Master’s degree at the time of his passing. He was a very gifted barber, mechanic, crap talker, writer, rapper, handyman, dancer (if you ask him), could throw down in the kitchen, an amazing athlete (if you ask him), had the gift of gab, had the loudest laugh and could make you laugh until your sides hurt and had the biggest heart; if you needed something and he had it, it was yours…he was good at anything he tried and he made friends everywhere he went.

While Josh’s life was anything but straight and narrow, the impact he made on you was a memorable one.

He was preceded in death by Nana/his adopted parents; Naomi Weathers & Dayton Weathers and his niece, Ezlyn Avila. Josh is survived by his children; son, Joshua Anthony Weathers II, daughter; Hannah Kathleen Marlin, son, Dayton Demetri Weathers, daughter, Lily Grace Lynn Weathers, grandson, Joshua Anthony Weathers III, mother, Jodi Lynn Rivera, brothers; Nick Rivera (Julie) and Carlos Avila (Amber), sisters; Jess Avila (Phil) & Kate Hefley, nephew Greyson Avila, nieces; Ayven Avila, Vaelyn Avila, Olivia Rivera, Aaliyah Rivera & Gianna Rivera, cousins; Shaquille Williams, Skylar Cunningham, Jurnee Avery & Kendra Barry, one aunt; Terri Avery and one uncle; Kenny Barry (Marie) and his girlfriend, Melissa Merryman.

There will be a small gathering for family and close friends on June 23, 2022 in Highland, IN following his cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a fund to be dispersed amongst his children.
