Leticia (nee Garcia) Martinez

November 1, 1968 – September 17, 2024

Leticia passed away unexpectedly on September 17, 2024, at the age of 55, and is survived by her husband, Arthur, and son, Joseph, and will be missed by her family, many friends, and her pets. She is preceded in death, by her parents Hector and Maria Garcia. She had an infectious laugh, enjoyed every moment in her life, and loved to engage in conversation. 

She loved to cook, which she took pride in, and in her spare time, she would watch hockey with her son. She was an animal lover, big supporter of the police K9s, enjoyed being with her dog on the couch and watch TV together, and had a deep love for music. Leticia was a graduate of East Chicago Central High Class of 1987 and earned her bachelor’s in communications for Purdue University (Calumet) Northwest. While in college, she worked at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, and in a later career move worked as the first female bridge operator at LTV Steel. Memorial Service will be made at a later date.
