Maria A Cardenas Age 78 Of Hammond Indiana passed away Sunday Jan.10,2021 at Porter Memorial Hospital in Portage, IN

She is survived by her Husband Jose J Cardenas her two daughters, Liza J Cardenas and Lynnette J Rios, Brother Alberto F Garza Sister Sylvia L Garza/Benavides, Brother Richard G Garza, Brother Jesus F Garza, Sister Thelma A Garza/Alaniz, Brother Rolando A Garza, Brother Alberto D Garza, Brother Gabriel E Garza, Sister Ernestina J Garza/Maldonado, Brother Sergio G Garza, Sister Cordelia D Garza/Munoz, Five grandchildren Johnathan M Cardenas, Jazmin M Cardenas, Ashley Y Rios, Christian A Coakley, Catelyn A Rios, Great grandchildren Portia J Jones, Leilani A Alford

Maria’s A Cardenas visitation will be held Tuesday Jan.19,2021 from 9:00 am -10:00 am at Acevez Funeral Home 4918 Magoun Ave. East Chicago, IN

A Mass will be at St. Stanislaus Church at 10:00 am, with Father Eduardo Malagon officiating.

Burial will be at St. John St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana.

Maria was a loving mother, sister, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always helping someone. She enjoyed crafting and collecting porcelain dolls.

She owed a business named "Three Sisters" on Main St. in the East Chicago Harbor area. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
