Maria "Wanda" Roque

Reunited in paradise. Forever young and in peace

 Maria “Wanda” Roque, age 79, was called home by the Lord on Thursday, July 30, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Fedell P. Roque, and parents, Reynaldo and Juventina Medellin. Maria is survived by her children: Nora (Abel) Arroyo, Michael Roque, and Mark (Eppie) Roque; 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and brother Omar Medellin. 

     Maria retired from St Catherine’s hospital. She enjoyed Bunco, bowling, golfing, and having good times with family and friends. She looked forward to dancing with her good friend Elisa at Beto’s bar every Saturday. Maria was beautiful inside and out, a free-spirit, and touched all those that knew her.  

      A restrictive visitation with social distancing will be held on Wednesday, August 5, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Acevez Funeral Home. 4918 Magoun Ave, East Chicago, IN.

 Maria will lie in state on August 6 at St Patrick’s Catholic Church. 3802 Grand Boulevard, East Chicago, IN.  

Friends may visit with the family Friday, August 6, DIRECTLY at St. Patrick's Church at 10 am until the mass at 10:30 am which will be officiated by Reverend Carlos Sosa AIC.

Face masks and social distancing will be required at Church

She will be laid to rest at St. John/ St. Joseph
