Marysue Flores, aged 68, passed away on December 5, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on May 23, 1956, in East Chicago, Indiana to Vincent and Maria Alvarez. She married Vincent Flores on October 27, 1974.
Marysue is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Vincent, and their children: Theresa Garza (Jason), Michelle Schlenkert (Jason), and Alvarez Flores (Megan). She was a proud grandmother to Dustin Pluard, Jacob Garza (Thalia), Patrick Schmitt (Jenna), Micah and Alvie Gellert, and Skylar and AJ Flores, and a great-grandmother to Hillevi Schmitt and Oscar and Aurora Garza. Her siblings, Martha Casas (Mace), Daniel Alvarez, Sue Arias, Josie Jones (David), Mariano Flores (Dawn), and many cousins, nieces, nephews, also survive her. MarySue was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Maria Alvarez, her brother Joseph Arias, father in-law Arturo Flores, mother in-law Helen Flores and sister-in-law Margarita Alvarez.
Marysue was a graduate of East Chicago Washington High School, Class of 1974, and earned an Associate Degree from Indiana University Northwest. She dedicated many years of her career as an office manager and billing professional at various medical facilities, where her meticulous nature was greatly valued.
A woman of many interests, Marysue was known for her love of shopping, crafting, and dancing. She cherished spending quality time with her family and friends, especially her beloved best friend Sylvia Roldan. She took particular joy in decorating her home for Christmas, making each holiday season memorable with her festive spirit.
A celebration of Marysue's life will be held at a later date.
She will be remembered as a loving family member, an outgoing spirit, and a dedicated family historian, keeping the stories of her lineage alive for future generations.
