Stella passed away suddenly Friday, November 5, 2021 at Franciscan Health in Munster, Indiana.

Adoring mother of her sons David and Richard, and daughter, Jennifer. Proud grandmother of Isabella.

Loving sister to her brothers Richard and Vincent and his wife, Beverly. Loving sister to Theresa and her husband, Patrick. Proud aunt to her nieces Illiana, Sophia, and Gabriela.

First born daughter to her dear parents, Lupe and Jenny Ortega.

Beloved niece, cousin and granddaughter to the best family anyone could ask for… Stella was intelligent, kind and generous. Beautiful inside and out. She loved to fish, and read. She loved old movies, and family pets. Her memory will be cherished and she will always be with her children.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 11am from St. Patrick's Church in East Chicago, Indiana.

A burial of her remains will take place at a later date.
