Sylvia Montez (nee Soto)

age 83 of Hobart, IN. passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Hobart, Indiana.

She is survived by her sisters Yolanda Castel, Anna Guerrero and brother Gilbert Soto.

Her four children are Roy Montez, Ronald (Darlene) Montez, Sonia (John) Flores, and Buonfilio (Naomi) Montez. She had 20 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her daughters Denise and Diane Flores. Her parents Florencio and Clara Soto. Sisters Naomi and Frances.

Brothers Florencio Jr. and Roland, Sister Judy Soto.

Sylvia retired from the Westside Nursing Home in 1999. She dedicated her life to her faith, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, playing games and cross-word puzzles and being with her family.

A special thank you to her granddaughter Krystal Nelson for her love and caring of her in her final days.

Sylvia will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
