Zenaida Olivares

Zenaida Olivares age 79 of East Chicago, Indiana passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Sebos Nursing home in Hobart, Indiana.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jose M. Olivares Sr. (Manolo),her older son Joseito Pena and her daughter Teresa Pena from Cuba. Her living children are Maria Gonzalez, Jose M. Olivares Jr. and her son from Cuba Roberto Pena. Her grandchildren include Jessica (Victor) Contreras, and Anthony Gonzalez. She has 5 great grandchildren, Joel Mora, Enrique Romero III, Delsin Romero, Jeremy Santos (JJ), and Kassandra Contreras.

She was a loving mother, wife, grandma, and great grandma. Her grandchildren will forever cherish her beautiful memories. She came from Havana, Cuba to the United States to make a living.

Zenaida loved to cook, everyone loved her cooking. She would feed anyone who would come over to the house, you wouldn’t be able to leave without eating. She will be truly missed by many.

A prayer service will be at 3 pm on Saturday, with Rev. Stephen Gibson officiating.
